53 IRELAND - The Quiet, The Green, The Clean Empty Waves

Thursday, 20th September, 2012

Easkey, Sligo

Today’s a day. The surf this morning was rubbish or rather I had a rubbish surf. I was sat in the wrong place. The state of tide meant that the main peak stopped working whilst the left just across from the river was firing; fast sections broke over shallow rocks. The guys who paddled out to it seemed to stroke into wave after wave whilst myself and some others sat waiting, hoping a set would appear. It’s also raining and so slightly depressing. Caroline cheers me up though. When I’m down she still manages to raise a smile. She has made this trip, more than she will ever know. Today we have been together for a year.
